Weā€™ve made it quick and convenient for you to understand what this weird thing on your Bruin Bill šŸ’µ and constant phrase being used in your emails šŸ’Œ is about.

WHAT IS UC SHIP? šŸ¤”

  • UC SHIP (UC Student Health Insurance Plan) is UCLAā€™s Health Insurance. All students are required to be enrolled in a qualified health insurance plan in order to register at UCLA. Undergraduates who do not have a qualifying plan are AUTOMATICALLY enrolled in the UC Student Health Insurance Plan (UC SHIP).

What if I already have health insurance?! šŸ˜”

šŸšØšŸšØIf you already have health insurance and you plan to keep it, please pay attention to the deadlines to decline UC SHIP or you may have complications with your original insurance.šŸšØšŸšØ

**New Students will receive information about the UC SHIP on your first Bruin Bill.

**If you choose to decline UC SHIP, then you will have to fill out a UC SHIP waiver form so you are not automatically enrolled in it. THE DEADLINE to fill out the Waiver is September 20th, 2019.
