Transfer Nick Thiel came from Norco College and is a first generation college student. At UCLA he is currently majoring in Political Science and minoring in History. Nick is always looking for ways to stay involved. He works as an Intern with the Transfer Experience Team in ResLife, is in the process of joining the Student Conduct Committee with USAC, and participates in the Honors Program.

Once he graduates, he intend on enrolling in a Ph.D program, or law school, as a means to become a professor and government adviser. To also achieve his ultimate goal, he holds an internship with the Federal Government. In addition, he works with the U.S. Agency for International Development creating political and policy analysis briefings for United States Officials. He is also love dogs. (I mean who doesn't) Picture of his adorable dog is below.

For anyone who is doubt of their place at UCLA, Nick has this to say:

"When transferring to UCLA, always remember that you got accepted for a reason. UCLA may be the #1 public institution in the United States, but it wouldn't have earned that accolade without students like us! Also, try to keep on top of the reading (of which, there is a lot) but don't forget to take care of yourself first."

Nick keep working hard and thanks for sharing your story!
